Re: No data loaded through BW showed in BPC

Hi Soraya,

There are a few steps you can do to check whether data has successfully imported into BPC or not, and then review in the EPM Add-in:

Check the Data Manger package in the EPM Add-in

  • If you are importing transactional data from a BW infoprovider, the logs that are viewed in the data manager packges will detail how many records are imported successfully, and how many rejected. Ensure that the accept count is more than zero.

Review the Transformation & Conversion files used when importing from BW

  • The transformation file that is used in the import from SAP defines which BPC dimension members are used when storing the records. Unlike SAP IP - BPC records must be have a fully populated key (no dimensions can be left blank or #)
  • Who-ever has configured the import can help you here - they should know where they have mapped the data to be stored in BPC.
  • Ensure that time periods are converted from BW format into BPC format, this is a common step missed out by people unfamiliar with BPC - you need to 0FISCPER in BW to TIME in BPC. Do this by using the conversion below, but updating it for periods you're loading:

EXTERNALINTERNAL
*20140012014.JAN
*20140022014.FEB

Check the data records using SAP BW

  • Use transaction code RSA1 and navigate to the BPC model / BW Infocube - you can search using Ctrl+F and then type the BPC model name e.g. SALES_MODEL
  • Right click - Display data - Select all characteristics then filter to the selections to the same data source you have tagged your SAP imports with, e.g. COPA
  • This will list the records in the cube that are imported

Review your EPM Context Settings

  • If the data has in fact imported into the BPC cube, it is most likely that you are just looking at a different 'slice' of data in BPC EPM Reporting, that excludes your data.
  • I suggest you put all selections to be the top level hierarchy e.g. 'All Project', 'All Data' etc. with a couple of dimension in rows e.g. Entity and Project, and then Time periods in columns
  • Ensure you are including the data you found via RSA1

Hope this helps,

Nick
