So that's what Ted was talking about. Thank you for that clarification.
I removed those files to test, so they wouldn't load, and PowerBuilder comes up, and shows that the SCC integration failed, which was expected, and while it "appeared" connected, there was no source control functionality available, so I believe this does verify that MKS is using transmission encryption. So MKS won't work without them, and I haven't been able to find any place within MKS to turn off that encryption. Even if I found where to turn it off, I most likely will not be allowed to.
So, it's just a question of what has changed to cause the new ones to fail like it does for 12.6 libs then. There is still the concern about using the older libs, because there's no telling what has changed to now cause the failure. On top of that, there are security vulnerabilities that were identified in the older versions.
So end result... still open source libs with no support. At least I'm a step further (however small), thanks Roland.
